Speech Language Pathologist Role:

  • Become part of a prominent teaching hospital team focused on the evaluation and treatment of patients in an outpatient setting.
  • Oversee patients with swallowing difficulties in a dynamic and rewarding environment.
  • Guide students and therapy assistants, offering education and expert consultation.
  • Conduct both clinical and instrumental evaluations and interventions pertaining to swallowing issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clinical services both independently and in collaboration with other professionals.
  • Engage in the planning, coordination, and execution of rehabilitation services.
  • Mentor students and provide clinical direction to staff members.
  • Contribute to quality enhancement and program development through clinical insights.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current registration with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
  • Certification in Heart and Stroke CPR is mandatory.
  • Experience in managing dysphagia and oropharyngeal dysphagia in adult patients.
  • Familiarity with Videofluoroscopic swallowing assessments is preferred.
