Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary team at Elves Special Needs Society. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and treating children and youth with speech and language disorders, as well as providing support and guidance to classroom staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Treatment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and youth to diagnose and treat speech and language disorders.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with classroom staff, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized communication programs.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Provide guidance and oversight to Speech and Language Pathology Assistants and support the development of their skills and knowledge.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in speech and language pathology, and share knowledge with colleagues through in-services and workshops.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and registration with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with children and youth with speech and language disorders, preferably in a pediatric setting.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and proficiency in using assistive technology and communication devices.
