Job Title: Pediatric Speech Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pediatric Speech Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Elves Special Needs Society.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and treating children and youth with speech and language disorders, as well as providing support and guidance to classroom staff in developing individualized communication programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Treatment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and youth to diagnose and treat speech and language disorders.
  • Individualized Programs: Develop and implement individualized communication programs for children and youth, including augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies.
  • Collaboration with Classroom Staff: Provide support and guidance to classroom staff in developing and implementing individualized communication programs.
  • Assistive Technology: Collaborate with the Assistive Technology Team to identify and implement assistive devices and strategies to support communication and access to education.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with developments in the field of communication disorders and provide in-services and workshops to educational teams, families, and community members.
Requirements:
  • Education: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Registration: Registered or eligible to be registered with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
  • Experience: Experience working with children and youth with severe disabilities and augmentative communication systems preferred.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
