Position Overview

In collaboration with the Sous Chef(s) and Chef de Cuisine, the primary responsibility of the Lead Culinary Specialist is to craft exceptional food-to-order for patrons, adhering to established culinary standards. Additional duties encompass maintaining a clean and sanitized workspace.

The ideal candidate will be a team player, proficient in managing multiple tasks, and exhibit outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities. This role contributes to a safe and inclusive workplace for all staff members. The candidate will inspire others, lead by example, and foster a learning atmosphere. Compliance with all policies and procedures is essential. Above all, the candidate must resonate with Cb Canada's culture and philosophy of delivering remarkable entertainment experiences.

Core Responsibilities
  • Prepares and portions food items for cooking
  • Organizes mise en place on a daily basis
  • Creates basic sauces, monitors and evaluates all food items
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the workspace and equipment
  • Ensures food quality meets kitchen management standards
  • Assists with food presentation for special occasions as needed
  • Takes on daily responsibilities based on business requirements and collaborates across all culinary areas as necessary
  • Ensures timely and precise preparation of food items for all service outlets
  • Oversees all service areas in the absence of the Sous Chef(s) or Chef
  • Builds and nurtures strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, team members, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
  • Ensures adherence to licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and other statutory requirements
  • Performs additional duties as assigned or directed
  • Finds ways to engage; maintains a serious approach to work while keeping a light-hearted demeanor
  • Chooses to make every day a positive experience
  • Stays focused to be present
  • Delivers an outstanding entertainment experience to both internal and external guests to ensure you enhance their day
Qualifications and Skills
  • Embraces Cb Canada's culture and philosophy, exhibiting a playful, engaging, and guest-centric attitude
  • Culinary Inter-provincial Red Seal certification is preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of culinary experience: 3 years as a 2nd Cook or 1 year as a 1st Cook is required
  • Prior experience in Banquets and line cooking is essential
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with both staff and guests are required
  • Experience in Garde Manger & Saucier is an asset
  • Proven interpersonal skills and a high level of self-motivation are necessary
  • Effective communication skills are required, with the ability to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure is essential
  • Strong problem-solving skills are required
  • Must be capable of lifting 25 kg (required)
  • Flexibility to work various shifts is necessary
