About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our team at Advanced Micro Devices. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing commercial activities, pricing, and supply for semiconductor commodities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cost-saving initiatives for managed categories, driving competitive bid processes, price negotiations, cost reductions, and business awards for key suppliers.
  • Collaborate with business units and operations to manage NPI and MP builds at contract manufacturers.
  • Manage supplier performance to contractual requirements, ensuring AMD's short- and long-term needs are met, and implementing contracts to minimize risk and enable supplier accountability.
  • Lead Supplier Performance Management (SPM) with key suppliers, managing quarterly scorecards to review service levels on cost, technology, quality, service, and flexibility.
  • Develop commodity strategies by monitoring ecosystem trends and driving projects in collaboration with business unit engineering experts.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends through ongoing market research, benchmarking, and technology competitive assessments.
  • Execute Procure-to-Pay activities to ensure timely issuance and invoicing of orders.
  • Demonstrate efficient use of AMD's strategic sourcing and Procure-to-Pay processes, communicating effectively with key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Leverage contracting and negotiating skills, risk mitigation, and supplier relationship management to manage suppliers and provide sustainable cost, quality, availability, and technology solutions in accordance with procurement policies.
  • Partner with Finance and Legal to resolve disputes with suppliers' partners.
Requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of purchasing, NPI, MP, and Contract Manufacturing.
  • Good knowledge of Supply Chain Management (SCM).
  • Demonstrated category sourcing strategy and cost-saving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective leadership and project management skills.
  • Consistently meets all aspects of the Strategic Sourcing Manager role.
  • Specific education or experience in SCM preferred.
  • Understanding of global/regional markets and cultures.
  • NAPM/APICS Certification preferred.
Academic Credentials
  • BS degree plus significant experience in a related technical or business field OR MBA with experience in a related technical or business field.
