Job Description

Position Title: Key Account Manager (Walmart)

Reports To: Customer Director

Location: Hybrid

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Key Account Manager at The J.M. Smucker Co., you will be responsible for developing and managing business relationships with key customers to drive sales growth and profitability. This role requires a strong understanding of the customer's business needs and the ability to develop and execute strategic plans to meet those needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement annual business plans to achieve volume, profit, and share goals for Smucker Consumer products at assigned accounts.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Customer Director, Category Strategy, Consumer/ Shopper Marketing, Trade Deduction Coordinators, and Supply Chain Analysts to identify and develop business-building plans for key accounts.
  • Utilize data analytics and market research to inform business decisions and drive sales growth.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including merchandising, operations, supply chain, and finance teams.
  • Develop and execute trade investment plans to achieve desired accounts receivable and trade investment goals.
  • Coordinate and communicate account program information to Retail Sales Manager and Acosta Retail Broker leads to achieve desired results.
  • Perform retail audits to ensure Acosta compliance.
  • Lead and grow portfolio in key omnichannel channels, including e-commerce, digital, and retailer media.
  • Provide regular reporting and forecasting information to the demand planning team.

Requirements:

  • University degree or college diploma or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of key account management experience in the grocery or mass retail channels.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to execute strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent negotiating, assessment, and analytical abilities.
  • Practical experience with category management and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Team-oriented with effective written and communication skills.
  • Flexible work schedule, including extended hours and workdays, as required.
  • Valid Class G driver's license.
