POSITION SUMMARY
As a Key Account Manager at The J.M. Smucker Co., you will be responsible for developing and managing business relationships with key customers to drive sales growth and profitability. This role requires a strong understanding of the customer's business needs and the ability to develop and execute strategic plans to meet those needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement annual business plans to achieve volume, profit, and share goals for Smucker Consumer products at assigned accounts.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Customer Director, Category Strategy, Consumer/ Shopper Marketing, Trade Deduction Coordinators, and Supply Chain Analysts to identify and develop business-building plans for key accounts.
- Utilize data and analytics to inform business decisions and drive growth.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with account personnel, including merchandising, operations, supply chain, and finance teams.
- Achieve distribution targets for Smucker products and maximize product volume and contribution margin within assigned customer base.
- Coordinate and communicate account program information to achieve desired results through Acosta retail sales personnel.
- Perform retail audits to ensure Acosta compliance.
- Lead and grow portfolio in key omnichannel channels, including e-commerce, digital, and retailer media.
- Provide forecasting information to the demand planning team through ongoing shipment, inventory, and POS analysis.
Requirements:
- University degree or college diploma or relevant experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of key account management experience within grocery or mass retail channels.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to execute strategic initiatives.
- Excellent negotiating, assessment, and analytical abilities.
- Practical experience with category management and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Team-oriented with effective written and communication skills.
- Flexible, extended hours and workdays required.
- Valid Class G driver's license.
