About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Floor Covering Installer to join our team at Trend Hardwood Floor. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our customers receive high-quality flooring installations that meet their expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered, ensuring accurate measurements and precise markings.
  • Material Handling: Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding, as well as measure, cut, and install carpeting on floors.
  • Tendering and Quoting: Prepare detailed tenders and quotations for customers, taking into account their specific needs and requirements.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings, ensuring that all installations meet our high standards.
  • Equipment Operation: Employ knee kickers and other equipment to stretch carpeting, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling. You must be able to lift and move heavy materials, and work in a variety of settings, including residential and commercial properties.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the flooring industry.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
  • Work Schedule: 32 hours per week, with a regular schedule and occasional overtime as needed.
