Job Title: Intergovernmental Relations Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intergovernmental Relations Director to join our team at Treaty One Nations Inc.

Job Summary:

The Intergovernmental Relations Director will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with government agencies, stakeholders, and Indigenous communities. This role will involve advising senior management on policy and program development, as well as providing strategic guidance on intergovernmental affairs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to build and maintain relationships with government agencies, stakeholders, and Indigenous communities
  • Advise senior management on policy and program development, including the development of policies and programs unique to government
  • Provide strategic guidance on intergovernmental affairs, including the development of policies and programs related to public affairs and intergovernmental relations
  • Draft legal correspondence and participate in the development of policies and programs
  • Direct and advise professional and non-professional staff, including committees and working groups working on projects and programs
  • Participate in the development of policies and programs related to public affairs and intergovernmental relations
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as law, public administration, or political science
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field, including experience in government relations, public affairs, or policy development
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation
  • Willingness to travel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic team. The work will involve frequent travel and the ability to work under pressure.
