Astellas Pharma Canada (APCA) is currently seeking a Veeva Vault Solution Architect.

Role Overview:

As a Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our digital initiatives within our agile organization. Our agile model encompasses two key components: Digital Capability and Digital Execution. Digital Execution focuses on aligning various missions with business objectives and facilitating large-scale collaboration, while Digital Capability emphasizes the growth and development of individuals within specific expertise areas. This dual structure allows us to efficiently scale agile practices while concentrating on both product development and individual skill enhancement.

A Solution Architect will possess extensive cross-domain knowledge of business applications, capabilities, and processes, enabling them to design, implement, and contribute innovative solutions that optimize the DigitalX design architecture landscape. Responsibilities will include leading stakeholder collaboration, analyzing functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring adherence to design standards, providing technology recommendations, creating solution prototypes, and managing epic story constraints such as cost, quality, scope, and resources. You will remain engaged throughout the epic lifecycle, assisting project leads in estimating costs, resources, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solution Design and Development: Create comprehensive application solutions that address business challenges, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
• Technology Selection: Assess and select suitable technologies and platforms for application development, considering performance, scalability, security, and integration capabilities.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with business analysts, project managers, and digital teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and technology standards.
• Initiatives & CI/CD Oversight: Provide technical leadership throughout the development lifecycle, guiding teams to adhere to architectural designs and best practices.
• Integration Architecture: Design and oversee the integration of new applications with existing systems, ensuring seamless operation and data consistency.
• Performance Optimization: Ensure application solutions are optimized for performance and user experience, conducting system performance analysis and recommending improvements.
• Compliance and Security: Ensure application architectures comply with relevant regulations and standards, incorporating security measures to mitigate threats.
• Documentation: Develop detailed documentation for application architectures, including design specifications and deployment guidelines.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members across digital and business units.
• Continuous Learning: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
• Innovation: Contribute innovative ideas to enhance project outcomes and digital capabilities.
• Reporting: Regularly update your Capability Lead and team members on initiative progress and outcomes.
• Problem-Solving: Utilize analytical skills to overcome challenges and deliver effective solutions.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest quality and consistency in deliverables.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science or Data Science.
• 7-10 years of relevant experience in the Pharma R&D sector, preferably in Clinical operations.
• Experience implementing or consulting on recognized Life Sciences technologies.
• Strong interest or demonstrated experience in digital capabilities, particularly Veeva R&D Vault.
• Experience with Veeva configuration and implementation.
• Technical proficiency in software development, with expertise in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, .NET, Python) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Deep understanding of architectural principles, microservices, API design, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills to analyze complex business processes and datasets.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies.
• Knowledge of Software Validation processes and requirements.

Preferred:

• Proven track record with CI/CD pipelines and adherence to DevOps principles.

• This position is remote and based in Canada.
