Astellas Pharma Canada (APCA) is currently seeking a Veeva Vault Solution Architect.
Role Overview:
As a Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our digital initiatives within our agile organization. Our agile framework encompasses two key components: Digital Capability and Digital Execution. Digital Execution focuses on aligning various missions with business objectives and facilitating broader collaboration, while Digital Capability emphasizes the growth and development of individuals within specific expertise areas. This dual approach allows us to efficiently scale agile practices while prioritizing both product development and individual skill enhancement.
The Solution Architect will possess extensive cross-domain knowledge of business applications, capabilities, and processes, enabling the design and implementation of innovative solutions that optimize the DigitalX architecture landscape. Responsibilities will include:
- Solution Design and Development: Craft comprehensive application solutions that address business challenges, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Technology Selection: Assess and choose suitable technologies and platforms for application development, considering performance, scalability, security, and integration.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and digital teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Initiatives & CI/CD Oversight: Provide technical leadership throughout the development lifecycle, guiding teams to adhere to architectural designs and best practices.
- Integration Architecture: Design and oversee the integration of new applications with existing systems, ensuring seamless operation and data consistency.
- Performance Optimization: Ensure application solutions are optimized for performance and user experience, conducting system performance analyses and recommending enhancements.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure application architectures meet relevant regulations and standards, incorporating security measures to mitigate threats.
- Documentation: Develop detailed documentation for application architectures, including design specifications and deployment guidelines.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members across digital and business units.
- Continuous Learning: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science or Data Science.
- 7-10 years of relevant experience in the Pharma R&D space, preferably in clinical operations.
- Direct experience with Life Sciences technologies.
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in digital capabilities, particularly Veeva R&D Vault.
- Experience with Veeva configuration and implementation.
- Technical proficiency in software development with expertise in multiple programming languages and cloud platforms.
- Deep understanding of architectural principles, microservices, and development methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Preferred:
- Experience with DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.

- This position is remote and based in Canada.
