About the Role

We are in search of a Greenhouse Solutions Consultant who will serve as a Subject Matter Expert on greenhouse frameworks and benches, delivering product knowledge to the Sales team and clientele. This individual will assist the Sales team in preparing quotations, processing sales orders, addressing parts inquiries, and offering general customer assistance. This position is pivotal in facilitating communication between Sales, Engineering, and Purchasing to ensure exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Sales and Engineering teams to translate customer needs from initial concept through to design and quotation;
  • Contribute to the creation of new products as required, fostering relationships with key suppliers;
  • Collect data to identify types of greenhouse structures to manufacture, market, and support to fulfill customer demands;
  • Monitor market trends, shifts, competitor offerings, and relay insights to the Sales team;
  • Serve as the primary user for the Westbrook Greenhouse Structures Quote Model;
  • Integrate products into the quote model for expedited quotations and assist the Sales team with pricing and solutions for custom items;
  • Maintain product and sales information in our ERP system, including pricing, RFQ logs, and project tracking;
  • Generate and manage sales orders, providing updates to the Sales team regarding production and delivery schedules;
  • Act as the main point of contact for customer inquiries, parts orders, and project support;
  • Deliver training to the sales team and accompany them on customer visits as needed;
  • Work in conjunction with other departments on order fulfillment and project management, and collaborate with Marketing to create sales support materials (brochures, catalogs, flyers, advertising, etc.);
  • Engage in the formulation of annual business plans and objectives aimed at boosting sales, enhancing margins, and improving customer satisfaction;
  • Conduct periodic evaluations of project quotes against actual project costs;
  • Coordinate with installers to ascertain pricing and scheduling requirements.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the greenhouse industry (including greenhouse structural systems, heating and mechanical systems, greenhouse construction, or horticulture);
  • Ability to interpret CAD drawings, with 2D AutoCAD experience preferred;
  • Previous experience in a technical inside sales capacity is advantageous;
  • Prior experience with ERP systems is beneficial.

Skills & Competencies

  • Technical proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and understanding manufacturing processes;
  • Outstanding customer service abilities – capable of addressing customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner;
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with various departments;
  • Demonstrated urgency and capability to meet deadlines;
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written);
  • Adaptable and open to sharing insights and expertise to resolve issues;
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work autonomously;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with intermediate skills in Excel.
