Job Summary

The Toronto-Dominion Bank (Canada) is seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) practice. As Senior Vice President, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Practice Lead, you will be responsible for spearheading AI/ML projects that drive business growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of AI/ML scientists, engineers, and product managers to deliver high-performance results and align with organizational goals.
  • Manage the AI CoE and applied AI/ML teams to develop and deploy state-of-the-art AI/ML applications that support the bank's strategic initiatives and AI evolution.
  • Identify and prioritize new machine learning opportunities, working with business stakeholders to define outcomes, benefits, and implementation strategies.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive end-to-end AI/ML plans that integrate program management, business, technology, and analytics activities.
  • Establish governance structures, approve projects, and oversee their execution, ensuring effective management of AI/ML activities, project teams, and delivery.
  • Ensure business lines are held accountable for the delivery of project benefits and outcomes.
  • Manage compliance approvals related to AI/ML activities, consents, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to coordinate resources and inputs.
  • Lead assessments of use cases, evaluating risk appetite, infrastructure, skillset, delivery risk, and strategic alignment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract, retain, and motivate a highly qualified team to meet business objectives.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in machine learning to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Partner with business analytics leaders to identify and leverage machine learning opportunities that optimize business outcomes.
  • Drive the realization of business case benefits and work with teams to execute implementation plans.
  • Coordinate resource management activities in collaboration with HR teams.

Requirements

  • Over 10+ years of experience in advanced analytics and significant experience in AI/ML development and deployment, preferably within the context of global banking products and/or consulting services.
  • Post-secondary/Masters in a quantitative discipline, science, engineering, or business/finance is preferred.
