Position Overview:
As a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) within our transitional care program, you will be responsible for overseeing the health and well-being of clients, including seniors and individuals with disabilities. Your nursing services will be delivered within your defined scope of practice, ensuring a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, and visitors. In emergency situations, you will be expected to take appropriate actions to safeguard everyone involved.
The role requires availability for rotating shifts, including both days and nights, with 12-hour work periods.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited program for licensed practical nurses and registration with a regulatory authority is mandatory.
- Successful completion of the Canadian Practical Nurses Registration Examination and possession of a current Registered Nursing Certificate of Competence for Ontario is required.
- Familiarity with Behaviour Strategies is advantageous.
- Previous experience as an RPN, particularly with individuals with disabilities and the elderly, is beneficial.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to handle situations with tact and discretion are crucial.
- Health and safety certification, along with first aid training, is considered a valuable asset.
- Physical capability to meet job demands, including lifting and transferring residents, is necessary.
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
As part of the employment conditions, proof of full vaccination or a valid exemption acceptable to the employer is required prior to commencement.
