Construction Quality Assurance Lead Job Description

Join our esteemed team at Kiewit as a Construction Quality Assurance Lead, where you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the excellence of our construction endeavors. In this position, you will formulate and execute comprehensive quality management strategies, collaborate with project supervisors, and ensure compliance with industry benchmarks. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee quality assurance for construction projects
  • Create and implement project-specific quality management plans, inspection protocols, and procedural guidelines
  • Collaborate closely with project supervisors, schedulers, and planners to ensure a thorough understanding of project objectives and timelines
  • Deliver quality outputs that align with project specifications and industry standards
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the Quality Management System, including work instructions and operational procedures
  • Ensure all work adheres to established technical requirements as outlined in project documentation, including drawings and specifications
  • Align quality control goals with construction practices to enhance product reliability while minimizing costs
  • Engage with supervisory staff, clients, contractors, and design professionals to address and resolve issues related to work procedures and construction challenges
  • Generate comprehensive quality reports and performance metrics
  • Analyze data and prepare reports to identify deviations from established standards
  • Issue notices of non-conformance and halt work orders, collaborating with clients and quality personnel to document incidents and recommend corrective measures
  • Review project logs, quality checklists, and test reports to ensure compliance with contract specifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in construction, specifically as a Quality Manager in industrial settings
  • Demonstrated experience as a QA/QC Inspector on large-scale projects
  • Extensive experience managing a team of quality inspectors
  • Strong commitment to ethical practices and integrity
  • A passion for safety, ensuring a secure work environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to work independently to achieve deadlines and objectives
  • Exceptional organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
  • Ability to navigate all areas of a construction site in various climates and environments
  • Willingness to travel as required by business needs
  • Fluency in French is essential
  • Functional proficiency in English (both written and verbal) is advantageous, as mobility across regions may be necessary. Language training can be provided if needed.
