OVERVIEW:

XtensionQA is in search of a seasoned and proficient Quality Assurance Lead to spearhead our mobile gaming testing initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience within the gaming sector, particularly in managing QA for Free to Play mobile titles. As a pivotal member of our organization, the Quality Assurance Lead will be accountable for guaranteeing the utmost quality and player satisfaction for the products in development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Guide and nurture a team of QA specialists, offering mentorship, training, and support to uphold superior testing standards and foster effective collaboration.
  • Establish clear roles and responsibilities within the QA team, delegate tasks, and oversee workload management to enhance efficiency and output.
  • Encourage a culture of ongoing enhancement and creativity within the QA team, promoting teamwork and knowledge exchange.
  • QA Strategy and Implementation:
  • Formulate and execute thorough QA strategies, methodologies, and processes customized to the specific needs of mobile game development.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams, including game designers, developers, and product managers, to set testing goals, priorities, and timelines for each project.
  • Perform risk evaluations and pinpoint potential issues, devising mitigation plans to reduce impact on project deliverables.
  • Test Planning:
  • Collaborate with development QA testers and engineering teams to develop comprehensive test plans, detailing test objectives, scope, methodologies, and acceptance criteria.
  • QA Execution and Management:
  • Oversee the complete QA lifecycle, from test planning and execution to defect tracking and resolution, ensuring compliance with project timelines and quality benchmarks.
  • Lead by example in conducting meticulous and rigorous testing of mobile games, encompassing functional, performance, compatibility, and regression testing.
  • Establish and maintain QA metrics and KPIs to monitor testing progress, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Act as the primary liaison for QA-related issues, coordinating with internal stakeholders, external partners, and third-party vendors as necessary.
  • Report on testing progress, challenges, and recommendations to senior management and project stakeholders, providing regular updates and insights on QA status and performance.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution of defects and alignment with project objectives and quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees or certifications in software testing or quality assurance are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in quality assurance, with a proven history of managing QA operations for established mobile casual game franchises.
  • In-depth knowledge of mobile game development and testing, with a strong grasp of mobile platforms, devices, and technologies.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse group of QA professionals.
  • Thorough understanding of QA methodologies, processes, and best practices, with experience in agile and iterative development environments.
  • Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering impeccable gaming experiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with test management tools.
  • Ability to align core working hours with PST time zone.
  • Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and work under tight deadlines.

This position is fully remote, and we are specifically seeking candidates from North America due to timezone considerations.
