Job Summary

Shared Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our Neurodevelopmental Services team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with children and adolescents with complex multi-diagnostic issues, providing a range of interventions in a clinic and community-based setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct occupational therapy assessments and develop recommendations for clients.
  • Establish and implement occupational therapy treatment plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Plan, facilitate, and provide follow-up within group therapy programs.
  • Evaluate client treatment plans and make adjustments as needed.
  • Work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Up to two years of related experience preferred.
  • Eligible for registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba and eligible for membership in C.A.O.T.
  • Knowledge of ecological systems theory, culturally competent practice, community-based mental health service delivery, and the bio-psychosocial approach to mental health.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, and mental health issues in childhood and adolescence with an emphasis on Tourette's, ADHD, ASD, Intellectual Disability, and Anxiety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Training and demonstrated skill in several clinical modalities.
  • Training in CBT and DBT desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
