Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary patient care team to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents in Long Term Care, PRIME program, Acute Care Program, and Out-Patient Programs.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify residents' occupational performance goals and develop strategies to achieve them.
  • Design and implement occupational therapy interventions to promote healthy lifestyles, prevent illness and disability, and enhance overall well-being.
  • Work closely with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in occupational therapy.
Requirements
  • Recent and relevant clinical experience in Geriatrics is required.
  • Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM) is mandatory.
  • Membership in the Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists (MSOT) and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift, bend, and move with ease to perform therapeutic techniques and activities.
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood, and body fluids.
  • May encounter aggressive and/or agitated clients, visitors, and staff.
