Job Summary

St. Boniface Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our clinical services team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in collaborating with clients to assess, intervene, and follow up on their occupational performance goals. Your expertise will support healthy lifestyles, prevent illness and disability, and promote health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess clients' occupational performance needs and develop personalized plans to meet their goals.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and healthcare teams to provide high-quality care.
  • Design and implement interventions to promote occupational performance and prevent disability.
  • Conduct follow-up assessments to evaluate progress and adjust plans as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with continuing professional development, research, and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Recent and relevant clinical experience in occupational therapy.
  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in Occupational Therapy from an accredited Canadian university program or the approved equivalent.
  • Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM) with the incumbent's name entered in the practicing register or in the provisional register as an examination candidate.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements in accordance with the Employer policy.
  • Membership in the Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists (MSOT) and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) preferred.

  • Demonstrated professional judgment and initiative.
  • Effective organizational, critical-thinking, clinical reasoning, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to perform both independently and as a team member.
  • Computer literacy as appropriate to the setting.
