Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Welding Inspector Specialist to join our team at Irving Shipbuilding. As a key member of our quality control team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of welding quality and safety in our shipbuilding operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain our visual inspection program, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for visual inspections, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct on-the-job audits of visual inspections to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to our QC/NDE inspectors, ensuring that they have the necessary resources and expertise to perform their duties effectively.
  • Promote a culture of safety within our welding group, identifying and mitigating potential hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Red Seal in Welding or Technical Diploma in a relevant subject.
  • ASNT Level III in Visual Inspection or willingness to work towards.
  • ASNT Level II in Visual Inspection, other disciplines are desirable.
  • CWB Level II Inspector.
  • 5 years of experience in a Welding or Inspection role.
  • Ability to deliver technical courses and communicate complex information in an accessible format.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage documentation and training records using MS Office software.
