Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Residential Loss Prevention Specialist to join our team at Verisk. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing residential properties to identify potential risks and hazards, and providing recommendations to prevent losses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule appointments with clients to conduct on-site assessments of residential properties.
  • Travel to properties to assess for risk features, take photographs, and review features such as fire prevention systems and electrical installations.
  • Assess building construction, electrical, heating systems, and plumbing installations to ensure proper installation and code compliance.
  • Identify and report on structural defects, fire hazards, and other threats to safety.
  • Converse with property owners to understand their concerns and provide recommendations for loss prevention.
  • Prepare detailed reports using our internal systems to identify construction and equipment details, risk assessment, and replacement cost value.
Requirements
  • Education in insurance, construction, home inspections, real estate appraisals, or engineering.
  • Experience with building codes, residential construction, building restoration, or as a home inspector.
  • Excellent computer skills, including database management, typing speed and accuracy, and word processing.
  • Bilingual, English and French.
Work Environment
  • Ability to work autonomously and remotely, with extensive travel within a region.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required.
