Kassen is seeking an experienced Payroll Operations Manager to lead and enhance payroll functions across Canada and the United States. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a robust operational background, ensuring payroll processes are accurate, timely, and compliant with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement a detailed payroll strategy that aligns with organizational goals.
  • Manage the complete payroll cycle, including data handling, calculations, deductions, and tax submissions for employees in both Canada and the US.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of federal, state/provincial, and local payroll tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance at all levels.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing payroll team, focusing on coaching, development, and performance evaluation.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to optimize payroll processes, improve efficiency, and minimize errors.
  • Utilize payroll software effectively and suggest enhancements to improve functionality.
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure smooth payroll operations.
  • Establish and uphold strong internal controls to protect payroll data and mitigate risks.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
  • Over 5 years of progressive experience in payroll management, with a focus on both Canadian and US payroll.
  • Thorough understanding of Canadian and US payroll tax laws, regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and developing payroll teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven track record of leading and implementing process improvements.
  • Proficiency in payroll software systems.
