About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Support Lead to join our team at Magna. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the support and maintenance of our Dayforce payroll system for our Canada and US Divisions. This role will ensure seamless operations and provide exceptional customer service to our internal stakeholders.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for payroll system-related inquiries and issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Establish and maintain expertise in Dayforce Payroll and General Ledger configurations, ensuring optimal system performance.
  • Lead Payroll module release management for all Dayforce Releases, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve payroll system issues, working closely with IT and HR teams to identify and implement solutions.
  • Coordinate with Dayforce application System Users for system upgrades and patches, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
  • Responsible for leading complex configuration and ensuring Quality Assurance and Ticket Management.
  • Provide initial and ongoing training to other team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Support ad-hoc payroll projects as required, providing expertise and guidance to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Establish, configure, and maintain Magna Legal Entities in Dayforce HCM, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Technical decommissioning of Legal Entities in Dayforce, ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and provide appropriate support, ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements, leading initiatives to implement changes that increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Generate and analyze reports related to payroll system performance and issues, providing insights and recommendations to management.
About You
  • 5 years of payroll & payroll system experience in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of payroll and payroll systems, with a focus on Dayforce.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and analytic skills, with the ability to configure and troubleshoot issues and defects.
  • Ability to accurately collect information in order to understand and assess the clients' needs and situation.
  • Excellent collaborator and a team player, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Well-developed root-cause analytical skills, with the ability to configure and troubleshoot issues and defects.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee information.
  • Understanding of HR, payroll, and time operations, with experience in employee data management.
  • Ability to understand business priorities and align technology opportunities.
  • Ability to set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Focus on quality customer service, with a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
  • Deep experience with Dayforce payroll, with certification in payroll management or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of Dayforce WFM and Workday HCM an asset.
