Position Overview

LOCATION

The Director of Education plays a crucial role in ensuring an exceptional educational experience for families by addressing their ongoing learning requirements and overseeing the implementation of our educational programs by qualified instructors.
This position involves monitoring student achievements, maintaining regular communication with families, and collaborating with school educators to facilitate the application of skills acquired in the classroom.
Additionally, the Director is responsible for observing and mentoring teaching staff to ensure high-quality instructional delivery.
In the absence of the Center Director, the Director of Education will act as the primary contact for clients and oversee center operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Center Director in conducting student assessments, revising lesson plans, and preparing educational materials.
  • Deliver the Sylvan curriculum in a small group setting when necessary, engaging and motivating students while assessing and documenting their progress.
  • Organize and facilitate all conference-related activities, including preparing materials and meeting with parents to maintain enrollment.
  • Ensure all instructors are adequately trained and certified to deliver Sylvan programs, while also monitoring their performance.
  • Encourage and develop staff through continuous professional development opportunities.
  • Track student progress to guarantee that educational goals are met and family needs are fulfilled.
  • Conduct regular parent conferences with appropriate documentation.
  • Maintain consistent communication with schools through teacher conferences, whether in-person, via email, or over the phone.
  • Report any concerns regarding student progress or instructor performance to the Center Director.
  • May be required to visit schools to establish and nurture partnerships for marketing and collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred experience of one to two years in teaching; supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with current educational curriculum and policies in the region.
  • Prior experience in retail or sales is advantageous.
  • Proficient in computer use, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of iPads and Zoom is beneficial.

    Must be articulate, organized, professional, detail-oriented, and adept at problem-solving in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective written communication skills tailored to the audience's needs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as a team player.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is essential.
  • Reliable transportation is preferred.

Work Schedule:

  • 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.
  • Occasional weekend shifts for marketing events.
