Position Overview

LOCATION: Newton, BC

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Educational Program Director is tasked with ensuring a superior personal customer experience by addressing the ongoing educational requirements of families and overseeing the delivery of our educational offerings by qualified instructors. This role is pivotal in fostering a personalized learning journey, as the Director assesses student performance, engages with families regularly, and collaborates with school educators to facilitate the application of learned skills in academic settings.

The Director is also responsible for observing and mentoring teaching staff, ensuring the provision of high-quality instructional experiences. In the absence of the Center Director, the Educational Program Director acts as the primary contact for clients and manages the overall operations of the center.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Center Director in conducting student assessments, revising lesson plans, and preparing educational materials.
  • Deliver the educational curriculum in a small group setting when necessary, engaging and motivating students during lessons, and evaluating their progress post-instruction.
  • Coordinate and manage all conference-related activities, including the preparation of materials and meetings with parents to maintain family enrollment.
  • Ensure all educators are adequately trained and certified to implement our programs while monitoring their performance.
  • Encourage and develop staff through continuous learning opportunities.
  • Track student progress to guarantee achievement of educational goals and satisfaction of family needs.
  • Conduct regular parent conferences with appropriate documentation.
  • Maintain consistent communication with schools through teacher conferences, whether in-person, via email, or phone.
  • Report any concerns regarding student progress or instructor performance to the Center Director.
  • May require visiting schools to establish and nurture partnerships for marketing and collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred experience of one to two years in teaching; supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with current educational curriculum and policies in British Columbia.
  • Previous experience in retail or sales is advantageous.
  • Proficient in computer usage, with a solid understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of iPads and Zoom is beneficial.
