In this role, Airport Operations Dispatchers play a crucial part in maintaining operational protocols through a thorough understanding of emergency management, safety measures, security protocols, and customer relations.
Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time, term opportunity for an Airport Operations Dispatcher (AOD) within the Airport Operations Department, reporting directly to the Operations Centre Manager. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, adeptly managing substantial information from diverse sources simultaneously. Strong verbal and written communication skills are vital for effective dispatching during both routine operations and emergency situations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor and utilize various communication systems, including alarms, radios, phones, emails, and social media, to coordinate operational staff, maintenance teams, and emergency responders, ensuring continuous safety and security on Sea Island.
- Effectively prioritize, delegate, and communicate with colleagues, contractors, government agencies, and stakeholders.
- Accurately document detailed information regarding all operations on Sea Island.
- Maintain a comprehensive and current understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Incident Command related to airside, terminal-side, and groundside operations.
- Simultaneously manage multiple situations and emergencies while documenting actions in Maximo.
- Address inquiries from customers and the general public through various communication channels.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a dispatch or call-taking role, or relevant aviation experience, complemented by a minimum of a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is essential; knowledge of an additional language is advantageous.
- Familiarity with various computer applications (Maximo, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Everbridge, Barco Sidebar, Adobe, etc.) is crucial, along with fast typing skills and strong grammar.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Capable of making swift decisions with limited information and prioritizing tasks efficiently.
- Must demonstrate confidence, resilience, strong multitasking abilities, and a collaborative spirit.
This position is available to both internal employees and external candidates. Prior job performance will be considered for internal applicants.
Compensation: The salary range is $68,011 to $88,886 per annum, based on a 37.5-hour work week, tailored to reflect individual experience and qualifications.
