Position Overview:

The Global Banking Technology & Operations (GBTO) division in Canada is dedicated to providing essential services to Société Générale's investment and corporate banking sectors, as well as their clientele, facilitating their transformation journey. Department Responsibilities:

The Operations Department oversees the middle and back-office functions across all business lines within Société Générale in Canada. The Operations Group is committed to ensuring the seamless execution of operational, administrative, and financial processes related to market transactions initiated by the business lines. Additionally, the Operations Group guarantees that the controls surrounding transactional processes adhere to established financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the settlement of fixed income, equity, and options products across US and global markets.
  • Conduct reconciliation of cash positions and stock records between custodians, clearing agents, banks, and internal systems.
  • Manage reconciliation of all suspense and control accounts.
  • Prepare KPI/KRI reports detailing root causes and resolutions.
  • Engage in continuous efforts to resolve discrepancies, including fails with counterparties.
  • Exhibit flexibility to work between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM, including occasional overtime and late shifts.
  • Adhere to a US Holiday Calendar.
Required Qualifications:

  • Expertise in clearing and settlement tools and systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Canadian regulatory and compliance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with broker/dealer operations.
  • Background in documenting end-to-end systems flows.
Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in business (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, or a related field) or equivalent experience.
  • 3-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of trade flows and products related to fixed income, equities, and options.
  • Adept at multitasking and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to advise and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with counterparts, clients, other departments, and external vendors.
  • Thorough knowledge of processing both domestic and international settlements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating a team-oriented approach.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.
Language Proficiency:

Fluency in both French and English is required, as effective communication in English is essential for collaboration with colleagues and partners in the United States.
