Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated full-time Contract Analyst to support our operations. This role is ideal for a collaborative individual with strong negotiation and communication abilities, looking to advance their career in Supply Chain Management.

As a Contract Analyst, you will oversee the complete procurement cycle, from identifying needs to executing contracts and managing supplier relationships within the EPCOR Water Services Procurement team. Your expertise will ensure adherence to company policies, trade agreements, and procurement best practices.

The focus of this position will be on strategic sourcing initiatives, often involving cross-company procurement projects aimed at establishing long-term agreements. You will also address engineering and construction requirements through various procurement methods. Familiarity with diverse procurement methodologies will be beneficial.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Contributing to strategic sourcing plans and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Delivering optimal results based on Supply Chain Management performance metrics, including customer satisfaction and cost efficiency.
  • Leading the procurement process from need identification to contract execution and supplier management.
  • Managing competitive bidding processes in compliance with public procurement regulations.
  • Facilitating negotiations and representing the organization in procurement discussions.
  • Preparing and coordinating contract documentation and making recommendations on contract awards.
  • Establishing and nurturing supplier relationships, including conducting contract review sessions.
  • Analyzing data to assess the feasibility of long-term supply contracts for frequently purchased items.
  • Advising stakeholders on procurement risks and processes.
  • Evaluating market competition and opportunities to inform procurement strategies.
  • Developing recommendations to enhance cost, delivery, and quality for the procurement portfolio.
  • Assisting in the creation of tools and reports to support operational objectives.
  • Upholding a high standard of performance, safety, and accountability in all work.

Qualifications for Success:

  • A two-year diploma or four-year degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of four years of extensive experience in category-based purchasing and contract negotiation.
  • Purchasing Designation (SCMP, C.P.M. or C.P.P.O.) is an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of public procurement processes and relevant trade agreements.
  • Proven ability to apply competitive bidding laws and contract law effectively.
  • Strong negotiation skills to create value in vendor relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to professional responsibilities, continually seeking to improve business practices. You will be skilled in cross-functional collaboration and possess strong analytical abilities to identify problems and propose solutions.

Additional Information:

This position is classified under CSU52; Class: T2. The starting wage is competitive and will be determined during the selection process.
