Reporting directly to the Manager of Procurement, this position is responsible to support the centralized corporate procurement function for the organization through the development sourcing strategies for goods and services. The Procurement Specialist requires the capability to foster positive relationships with stakeholders, execute procurement of service and goods contracts and sustain business needs. You will be responsible for utilizing considerable independent judgement, strategic sourcing and category management principles, tools, and techniques to align corporate goals, business plans, and internal customer objectives to leverage ATCO spend and global footprint to procure the best value for the organization.

What Else You Get To Do:

  • Support vendor development / relationships to drive competitive pricing material supply and services, and alignment with internal customer and Company goals and strategies.
  • Collect market intelligence to gain insight on service/capabilities within the industry for upcoming bids with guidance from Sourcing Specialists. Facilitate engagement with cross functional stakeholders as to their respective requirements to ensure those requirements are included in the overall contracting strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to understand their requirements. Understands the marketplace conditions to mitigate long deliveries and ensure inflationary price increases are kept at a minimum.
  • Supports the development of low to medium value and complexity request for proposal/quotation bid packages to ensure end user requirements are met while maintaining compliance with laws of competitive bidding.
  • Coordinates formal bid evaluations, incorporating commercial evaluation and technical evaluation with cross functional stakeholders, develops award recommendation and contract summary.
  • Negotiates terms and conditions of contracts and establishes contractual agreements with suppliers/contractors for low to medium value and complexity.
  • Coordinate ongoing agreements and amend as required.
  • Explore and recommend changes to the Manager, Operational Procurement in contract templates, process, and procedure to reduce workload and increase efficiencies.

Who You Are:

  • An undergraduate degree in Business or Commerce, SCM or an equivalent is preferred,
  • 5+ years diversified procurement or supply chain management experience and working knowledge of contract composition, contract law and dispute resolution
  • Experience in a category management including data analytics, market research cost, demand modeling, procurement planning, strategic sourcing, competitive RFx development and management, contract execution and contract management is preferred
  • Experience in the following categories and/or industries; construction services, engineering, fleet vehicles and/or facility services
  • Familiarity with key Supply Chain core processes and overall knowledge of Supply Chain business practices for meeting services delivery.
  • Professional SCMP designation or enrolment into the program is an asset
