Program Administrator, Arts and Culture

The City of Ottawa's Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead the design, development, and implementation of arts programs at various facilities and venues. As an Arts Program Administrator, you will be responsible for securing resources, allocating program venues, staff, volunteers, artists, and equipment, as well as hiring and supervising arts instructors or related program staff.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and evaluate arts programs for multiple facilities and venues
- Secure and allocate resources, including program venues, staff, volunteers, artists, and equipment
- Hire and supervise arts instructors or related program staff
- Create partnerships and secure grants, sponsorships, and marketing
- Develop and implement training programs for instructors and volunteers
- College or university student enrolled in a related discipline, such as theatre, dance, music, visual, literary, or media arts
- Minimum 2 years of practicing and/or teaching experience in a related discipline, with technical skills and training to safely use specialized equipment
- Previous experience working with children in a recreation setting, arts centre, or event
- Current Standard First Aid, CPR, and/or AED certificates
- AODA Customer Service/IASR Training
- Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of the local arts community and program design, development, and evaluation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and ability to work in a changing work environment
- Leadership, initiative, and creativity
Various language requirements, locations may require English only, French only, or bilingual competencies. Some positions require English oral, reading, and writing, while others require French oral, reading, and writing.
Police Record CheckThe successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check with the Police Services detachment in their jurisdiction to the City of Ottawa's satisfaction.
