Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

TWD is currently in search of a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to provide support for our client in a dynamic work environment. This position offers a 4 Day On, 3 Days Off Schedule [10 Hour a day] and can be based in various arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and/or assist in the execution of maintenance engineering tasks in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with maintenance execution teams, Turnaround planning, operations, and cross-functional teams including process engineers and machinery specialists to accomplish engineering objectives.
  • Prepare and/or evaluate technical documentation to ensure content accuracy and identify potential issues and opportunities.
  • Develop work scopes to ensure the reliable operation and upkeep of site systems and equipment.
  • Provide expert technical support and recommendations regarding static equipment, operations, and maintenance.
  • Engage in audits and investigations, acting on the findings.
  • Lead and/or assist in troubleshooting initiatives and formulate effective solutions.
  • Foster and participate in a safety-oriented culture related to engineering activities.
  • Manage the Management of Change (MOC) process and ensure deliverables are met.
  • Comply with training requirements, contractor safety qualifications, and management protocols, ensuring safe work practices are followed.
  • Ensure timely reporting and investigation of incidents, with prompt follow-up actions.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on business unit needs.
  • Conduct field assessments and work with maintenance and operations personnel to create repair strategies.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical or mechatronics engineering, registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA, or fulfilling the APEGA Inter-Provincial Mobility program criteria.
  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry or a similar field.
  • Proficient understanding of applicable industry codes, including API 510, 570, 574, 653, ASME B16 series, ASME B31.3, ASME PCC-1/PCC-2, and CSA Z662.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply relevant Acts, Regulations, and Codes effectively.
  • Familiarity with reliability tools such as Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Capability to perform in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Willingness to visit plant areas as required and adhere to HSE requirements.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to seeking feedback for improving deliverable quality and developing new skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and cloud-based business applications.
  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD, drawing revision processes, and SAP.
  • Ability to work autonomously while also being a collaborative team member.
  • Demonstrates initiative and drives effective results in a timely manner.
  • Familiarity with SAP and Maintenance & Reliability workflows.
  • A valid Alberta Class 5 or equivalent driver's license is required.
