Job Title: Registered Dental Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Dental Assistant to join our team at Calgary Dental Group.

Job Summary:

The Registered Dental Assistant will play a vital role in providing quality dental care to our patients. The successful candidate will assist the dentist during procedures, prepare instruments, take x-rays, educate patients, and ensure the smooth flow of the dental office.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the dentist during procedures, including preparing instruments and taking x-rays
  • Prepare dental instruments, fillings, compounds, and various dental materials
  • Take and develop X-rays
  • Polish teeth and clinical crowns and apply fluoride and sealant
  • Educate patients concerning oral hygiene
  • Perform clerical duties, such as preparing invoices, processing payments, scheduling patient appointments, and recording dental procedures performed
  • May perform intra-oral duties, such as removing sutures, taking and recording vital signs, applying desensitizing agents, topical anesthetic, anticariogenic agents, and coronal whitening
  • May also perform pulp vitality testing and periodontal screening and recording

Requirements:

  • Dental assisting certification or relevant experience
  • Proficiency in ClearDent (preferred but willing to train the right candidate)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
