Job Title: Corporate Law Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Law Support Specialist to join our team at GPAC. As a key member of our Corporate Law practice, you will provide administrative support to our lawyers and clients, ensuring the smooth operation of our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Calendar Management: Maintain and organize calendars and client contacts, schedule appointments and meetings as required.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare required documents and presentations for client meetings, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • File Management: Create, organize, and maintain electronic files as required, updating client files to ensure accuracy of contact information.
  • Administrative Support: Lead the administrative function for time entry and the monthly billing cycle, working closely with our bookkeeper.
  • Client Communication: Follow up and follow through with clients diligently, exercising discretion and professionalism.
  • Financial Management: Prepare financial forms for expense reports, requisitions, trust deposits, and wire transfers.
  • Document Drafting: Draft and proofread documents and forms, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Time Management: Ability to adhere to deadlines while maintaining a high quality of work.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years demonstrated work experience in a law firm within a Corporate Law support capacity within British Columbia.
  • Autonomy: Ability to work autonomously in a remote role while maintaining a collegial team environment.
  • Organizational Skills: Proven organizational ability and ability to exercise sound judgment when making decisions.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail demonstrated via proofreading and grammatical skills for forms, documents, and presentations.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professionalism in all client interactions.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written interpersonal skills.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced to expert level technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Legal Software: Proficiency with legal software to assist with Corporate Law transactions and to support accounting functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Legal Assistant diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced to expert level proficiency in ALF and PC Law preferred; proficiency in comparable legal software applications will be considered.
