Position: Community Health Nurse
Contract Duration: Until December 12, 2024
Work Schedule: Part-Time – 18.75 hours per week
Work Location: Lillooet/Lytton – Health Centre
Union Affiliation: PIPSC (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada)

Role Overview
In the capacity of Community Health Nurse, your responsibilities will include providing a comprehensive suite of nursing services in remote First Nations communities, focusing on community and public health, primary care, and urgent care. Key duties include:

  • Employing nursing expertise and critical analysis to design, execute, and assess health programs and interventions that address community health issues, while adhering to relevant regulations and policies.
  • Gathering, evaluating, and interpreting data from diverse sources to inform nursing services, including program development and prioritization for individuals and communities.
  • Leveraging evidence-based research to shape health policies and practices, addressing health disparities and promoting wellness across populations.

Candidate Profile

  • A Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Basic Life Support Certification Level C is required.
  • Completion of a recognized specialty nursing program is advantageous.
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver's License is necessary.
  • At least one year of recent nursing experience in a relevant field.
  • Specific experience relevant to the role is preferred.
