Position: Community Health Nurse
Employment Type: Term Until December 12, 2024
Work Schedule: Part-Time – 18.75 hours per week

Role Overview
In the capacity of Community Health Nurse, your responsibilities will include providing a wide array of essential nursing services in remote First Nations communities, focusing on community and public health, primary care, as well as urgent and emergent care. Key duties encompass:

  • Employing nursing expertise and critical analysis to design, execute, and assess health programs and interventions, while adhering to relevant legislation, regulations, and policies.
  • Gathering, evaluating, and interpreting data from diverse sources to inform evidence-based decisions regarding nursing services, including program development and prioritization with individuals and communities.
  • Leveraging research and evidence to shape health policies and practices, synthesizing nursing knowledge to address population health status, health inequities, and effective health promotion strategies.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Basic Life Support Certification Level C is required.
  • Completion of a recognized specialty nursing program is advantageous.
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver's License is necessary.
  • At least one (1) year of recent nursing experience in a relevant field.
  • Specific experience relevant to the role is required.
