About the Role

The First Nations Health Authority is seeking a skilled Community Health Nurse to join our team. As a Community Health Nurse, you will provide comprehensive nursing services to remote communities, including community and public health, primary care, and urgent and emergent care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide core nursing functions and services in remote communities
  • Support other health professionals with orientation, training, and information
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate programs and interventions to address health issues
  • Advocate to key stakeholders to enhance services that promote the health and wellbeing of individuals, families, groups, and communities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a recognized university or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Basic Life Support Certification Level C
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum one (1) year of recent point-of-care nursing experience in a related or relevant field
  • Knowledge of evidence-based clinical nursing practice, including current concepts of primary care nursing for the delivery of treatment services
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently over rough roads, by float or small plane, by boat or helicopter
