About the Role
The First Nations Health Authority is seeking a skilled Community Health Nurse to join our team at the Lax Kw'alaams Nursing Station. As a Community Health Nurse, you will work in an expanded scope of practice to provide primary care, public health, health promotion, and emergency care for First Nations individuals, families, and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary care, public health, health promotion, and emergency care to First Nations individuals, families, and communities.
- Work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Develop and implement health promotion programs and services.
- Provide education and support to patients and families on health-related topics.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Current registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Remote certification (RNC) with BCCNM.
- Current CPR course for Health Care Providers (HCP).
- Valid Class 5 Driver's license.
- Understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols.
- Knowledge of nursing processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in primary care, disease and injury prevention, health protection, curative, urgent and emergent care, medical/surgical, rehabilitation and supportive or palliative care.

COVID-19 Vaccination Policy
The First Nations Health Authority has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.
