About the Role

The First Nations Health Authority is seeking a skilled Community Health Nurse to join our Resource Team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide primary care, public health, health promotion, and emergency care to First Nations individuals, families, and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive primary care services, including health assessments, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions.
  • Develop and implement health promotion programs to improve the health and well-being of First Nations communities.
  • Collaborate with community members, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to identify health needs and develop solutions.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide emergency care and support to First Nations communities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Current registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Working towards or are Remote certified (RNC) with BCCNM is preferred.
  • Current CPR course for Health Care Providers (HCP).
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's license.
  • Understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols.
  • Knowledge of nursing processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in primary care, disease and injury prevention, health protection, curative, urgent and emergent care, medical/surgical, rehabilitation and supportive or palliative care.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous cultural safety principles and protocols.
