The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) operates in a collaborative environment alongside a diverse healthcare team within a dynamic acute care setting. The patient demographic served includes individuals with acute medical conditions and those transitioning to alternative care environments. The CNS will engage actively with the multi-disciplinary team to guarantee that patients receive exceptional, patient-centered care tailored to their complex and varied health requirements.
Role Overview:
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will deliver a comprehensive range of nursing services to patients, families, and communities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Your responsibilities will encompass the application of nursing processes through critical analysis, problem resolution, and informed decision-making. You will also provide education, support, and advocacy for patients and their families, fostering a holistic approach to health promotion and maintenance.
In this position, you will be instrumental in delivering safe, high-quality care that aligns with the core values and vision of Alberta Health Services. Note: Provisional Permit Holders will receive a specified compensation, which will be adjusted upon successful registration as a Registered Nurse in accordance with applicable agreements.
Essential Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program is required. Candidates must be actively registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification is also necessary. For those who have not practiced as a Registered Nurse in the past five years, completion of specific required courses is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Senior's and Geriatric Health is highly desirable. Familiarity with Connect Care systems is also preferred.
