About the Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Practice Specialist to join our team. As a Clinical Practice Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting clinical teams in optimizing clinical workflows and processes within the Calgary Zone. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing, pharmacy, physicians, and leadership, to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and provide resources, consultation, and collaborative support to clinical teams to implement and sustain quality improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize quality improvement methodologies to assist with clinical workflow and process development, stakeholder engagement, and change management.
  • Present and facilitate large meetings effectively and manage multiple projects and pieces of work simultaneously.
  • Collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational, and evidence-informed practice.
  • Play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in nursing.
  • Experience working in quality improvement and patient safety within the Calgary Zone, specifically with surgical teams and women's health, home care, and other areas as required.
