Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Logistics Coordinator to join our team at RONA. As a key member of our delivery operations team, you will be responsible for maximizing vehicle and delivery efficiency while effectively balancing the delivery requirements of our customers and meeting the standards of the Highway Safety Code.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivery Scheduling: Receive delivery requests, schedule them as per company policy and unique customer requirements while maximizing delivery efficiency.
  • Route Optimization: Review shipping memos for obvious errors, route deliveries to maximize vehicle capacity and minimize delivery time and distance.
  • Vehicle and Driver Management: Assign vehicles and drivers to routes, ensure specialty products are routed on the appropriate truck.
  • Problem Resolution: Notify the appropriate department of problems and initiate corrective action.
  • Support Operations: Assist the Dispatch office with answering telephone inquiries, signing in/out drivers, resolving problems.
Requirements
  • Logistics Expertise: Ability to effectively schedule, route, and coordinate deliveries, taking into account delivery boundaries, traffic restrictions, travel time, vehicle load restrictions, and load specifications.
  • Knowledge of RONA Policies: Knowledge of RONA policies and procedures with respect to order entry and delivery.
  • Geographic Knowledge: Knowledge of major streets within a designated area.
  • Product Knowledge: Knowledge of building materials and related products, current inventory levels and product alternatives.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to prioritize and respond to situations in a timely and appropriate fashion, leadership skills including the ability to motivate, delegate, and communicate effectively.
