We are seeking a skilled Logistics Coordinator to join our team at RONA. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maximizing vehicle and delivery efficiency while effectively balancing customer delivery requirements and meeting safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Delivery Scheduling: Receive and schedule delivery requests in accordance with company policy and customer requirements, ensuring optimal delivery efficiency.
- Route Optimization: Review shipping memos for errors and route deliveries to maximize vehicle capacity, minimize delivery time and distance, and ensure all next-day deliveries are completed prior to the end of the shift.
- Vehicle and Driver Management: Assign vehicles and drivers to routes, ensuring specialty products are routed on the appropriate truck and advising the Supervisor of staff and vehicle requirements.
- Problem Resolution: Notify the appropriate department of problems and initiate corrective action, assisting the Dispatch office with answering inquiries and resolving issues as needed.
- Logistics Expertise: Ability to effectively schedule, route, and coordinate deliveries, taking into account delivery boundaries, traffic restrictions, travel time, vehicle load restrictions, and load specifications.
- Knowledge of RONA Policies: Familiarity with RONA policies and procedures related to order entry and delivery.
- Geographic Knowledge: Knowledge of major streets within a designated area.
- Product Knowledge: Familiarity with building materials and related products, current inventory levels, and product alternatives.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to motivate, delegate, and communicate effectively, with a focus on prioritizing and responding to situations in a timely and appropriate manner.
