Job Summary

American Iron and Metal is seeking a highly skilled Transportation and Scales Coordinator to join our team at our Boisbriand site. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics and customer service functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Logistics and Transportation
    • Perform daily opening and closing activities
    • Direct customers to the site
    • Answer phone calls and redirect as needed
    • Inform customers of current metal prices
  • Customer Service
    • Greet customers with courtesy and follow company procedures
    • Communicate relevant information to customers
  • Administrative and Reporting
    • Weigh material
    • Make delivery notes in software
    • Pay customers
    • Prepare shipping papers
    • Track shipments of materials
    • Balance cash register at end of day
    • Perform reports
  • Additional Tasks
    • Take care of truck distribution
    • Perform all other related tasks
    Requirements
    • 2-3 years of experience in customer service
    • Excellent command of MS Office tools (Excel, Word)
    • Experience in transportation industry (asset)
    Skills
    • Ability to handle stress
    • Rigor
    • Good communication
    • Excellent customer service
    • Good knowledge of software and computer systems
    • Good mental arithmetic skills
    Benefits
    • Full-time, permanent position with 100% job security
    • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. + Saturday, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
    • Overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours
