Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team in providing exceptional care to individuals with mental health and substance use challenges. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will work collaboratively to deliver person-centered and recovery-oriented care, promoting a welcoming therapeutic environment and empowering clients to achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and provide direct nursing care to clients in compliance with standards of practice.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to coordinate care, provide education and support to clients and their families, and facilitate access to community resources.
- Work from a strengths-based model, using motivational interviewing and engagement techniques to support clients in achieving their goals and improving their quality of life.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients and their informal support network, promoting respect, empathy, and understanding.
- Provide crisis intervention, individual counseling, and education to clients and their families, using a variety of theoretical models and approaches.
- Participate in case conferences and meetings with clients, families, and service providers to ensure a coordinated approach to treatment and care.
- Consult and collaborate with members of the interprofessional care team to identify and resolve issues, adjust care plans as needed, and promote continuity of care.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
- Two years of recent experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and/or concurrent disorders.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
