Fraser Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team in Addictions Assessment. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide person-centered care to patients experiencing problematic substance use.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to identify their needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to patients in crisis, including emergency situations such as drug overdose and assaultive behavior.
- Education and Support: Educate patients and their families on topics essential to their health care and well-being, including withdrawal management, relapse prevention, and health promotion strategies.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to ensure seamless communication and decision-making around patient care.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records, including electronic health care information.
- Education and Experience: Graduation from an approved Nursing Program with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Training and Certification: Completion of approved addictions or substance use training, or substance use certificate program, and one year's recent related experience working in an addictions environment with individuals with substance use disorders.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to complete initial and ongoing mental health and substance use patient assessment and provide nursing care through appropriate/prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety type interventions including crisis intervention.
