Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Glazier to join our team at Progress Glass Company Ltd.. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in glass installation and repair, ensuring high-quality service to our clients.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months in a relevant field
Work Environment

The role involves on-site customer service, repair, and installation within a retail service and repair firm, focusing on both shop fabrication and fieldwork.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and determine the type of glass, frames, and materials required for various projects.
  • Measure, mark, and cut glass accurately to specifications.
  • Position and secure glass panes within frames.
  • Assemble and install prefabricated glass products, mirrors, and other glass items.
  • Install various hardware including doors and windows.
  • Perform repairs on glass doors and other glass structures.
  • Estimate costs and materials needed for projects.

Frame Fabrication and Installation
  • Work with curtain wall systems, both stock length and prefabricated materials.
  • Utilize aluminum framing members for various installations.
  • Install entranceways and other structural elements.
Glass Cutting Techniques
  • Expertise in free-hand glass cutting for curved designs.
  • Edge glass plates with precision.
Specialization Areas
  • Curtain walls and aluminum storefronts
  • Shower doors and tub enclosures
  • Vehicle windows, windshields, and sunroofs
  • Interior glass partitions and walls
Physical Requirements

This position is physically demanding, requiring bending, crouching, and kneeling.
