Job Summary

Actionmarguerite is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a LPN, you will provide high-quality care to our residents, working collaboratively with our healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to residents, including administering medications, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of residents' physical and emotional needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, including physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices.

Requirements

  • Current active practicing registration with CLPNM.
  • Graduate of approved Licensed Practical Nursing education program.
  • Certificate in CPR.
  • Experience in gerontological nursing.
  • Ability to communicate in both official languages (French and English).
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking/problem solving skills and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in long-term care or gerontological nursing.
  • Knowledge of College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Knowledge of College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Knowledge of Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Protection of Persons in Care Act, Mental Health Act, Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions), and other legislated acts.
