Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Health Sciences Centre. As an LPN, you will provide professional practical nursing services to designated patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide independent nursing services, administer prescribed medical treatments, and collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and discharge.
- Work under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to regional/facility/unit policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans, ensuring that care is patient-centered and evidence-based.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program.
- Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training at the Healthcare Provider level.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training an asset.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training an asset.
- Trauma Nursing Core course (TNCC) an asset.
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric course (ENPC) an asset.
- Emergency Practice, Interventions and Care (EPICC) Foundations course an asset.
- Emergency Practice, Interventions and Care (EPICC) Trauma course an asset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Recent, related experience in emergency nursing.
- Knowledge of College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses.
- Knowledge of College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics for Licensed Practical Nurses.
- Knowledge of Scope of practice as documented in the Licensed Practical Nurses Act.
