Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Seven Oaks General Hospital. As an LPN, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with our healthcare team, and contribute to the delivery of excellent patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional practical nursing services to designated patients, including independent nursing services and administration of prescribed medical treatments.
- Collaborate and interact with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and discharge.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of patient care plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of patient care.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program.
- Certification in IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration.
- Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Recent, related experience in the applicable clinical area.
- Knowledge of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses.
- Knowledge of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics for Licensed Practical Nurses.
- Knowledge of the Licensed Practical Nurses Act.
Skills and Abilities:
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize care for an individual patient or group of patients.
- Ability to delegate care appropriately and monitor outcomes of delegated care.
- Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.
Physical Requirements:
- Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
- Rotating shifts and weekends may be required.
