Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Music Centre Administrator at Long & McQuade. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Music Lesson Centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer all aspects of the Music Lesson Centre, working closely with the Director of Music Education to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Interview, select, and provide orientation for suitable teachers, ensuring they meet our high standards.
  • Coordinate teacher schedules and room schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize conflicts.
  • Promote and market the Music Lesson Centre to attract new students and retain existing ones.
  • Register students, enforce attendance and payment policies, and maintain accurate records.
  • Confirm and administer teacher pay, ensuring timely and accurate compensation.
  • Train and supervise lesson staff to ensure they provide exceptional service and instruction.
  • Manage overdue or delinquent customer lesson accounts, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Develop and coordinate group programs and classes, catering to diverse interests and skill levels.
  • Schedule and plan bi-annual student recitals, showcasing student talent and achievement.
  • Evaluate teachers for job effectiveness and recommend rate increases based on performance.
  • Liaise with store staff to promote and market Long & McQuade products and services, driving sales and revenue growth.
  • Maintain studios and studio equipment, ensuring a clean and safe environment for students and staff.
  • Regularly review Lesson Centre revenue and growth projections, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to drive success.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of instrumental music studies in school or through private lessons.
  • Strong knowledge of music education and a passion for sharing that knowledge with others.
  • Ability to work weekdays, weeknights, and weekends, including flexible scheduling to meet the needs of our students and staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Proven sales and customer service skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and driving customer satisfaction.
  • Basic office administration and customer account management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
